About me

I am a self-taught artist who was born in Edinburgh and now I live in Morayshire. I was not encouraged to take art seriously as a child, however, as I grew up and developed my own direction in life I chose the path of art.

At times this has been challenging as I have felt discouraged when there was expectation for me to ‘get a proper job’. As well as loving the freedom and creativity that art brings, I have used Art as a therapy to help take me out of dark times.

For me Art is also a form of meditation and a way of expressing myself. There have been times when I have wanted to give up art, however, it will now always be an important part of my daily life. I am always creating in some form or another. I always thought I would never be able to produce the art I am producing now as I thought this was beyond me. However, now I look at it and say ‘wow I produced that!’

I have reached a stage now with my art where I think it is of a standard that I can promote. I love creating, I love having a space where I have got lots of things I can get on with without having to deal with the mundane and uncreative aspects of our society.

I am glad I’ve used my precious time to learn many forms of art and I’m still learning.
